Hello,
I want to use the CS5 Dreamweaver template: centered fixed header and footer for the main page. For the rest of the pages I want to use the fixed width, header, footer and right sidebar template. How can I mix both and make one template for my site?
Mauricio
Use the latter template, and on the index page, add CSS to make the right sidebar display:none, and to adjust the main column's width accordingly. One template, two layouts.

Okamiofspades Aug 18, 2011 3:35 PM (in response to MurraySummers)You could always just use two templates. For one website I made one design and saved it as two files, making the differences needed to each before saving each one as a template file. I then applied each termplate to which page was needed. I had a lot of psges that needed each, so for me it was just easier to have seperate templates based from the same design.

MurraySummers Aug 18, 2011 4:41 PM (in response to Okamiofspades)Never use more templates than you need - it's a good rule of thumb. There's no need to use more than one template for almost any site I've seen.

John Waller Aug 18, 2011 4:44 PM (in response to I Love Doing Websites)Set it up as a Server Side Include.
Then it's still a single file feeding two Templates.
But, as Murray says, one DW Template should be enough for any website large or small.
Personally, I've stopped using them altogether because they just get in my way.

Okamiofspades Aug 21, 2011 9:47 PM (in response to I Love Doing Websites)Change it on both templates. That's not that complicated. It's simply personal preference. I don't expect anyone to follow my methods, I'm just pointing out it's an option.
