Ever since installing Lion, moving from snow leopard, InDesign will not print, but crashes when trying to get the print dialog box. I can print by generating at PDF of the document and then print from Acrobat 8.3.0. This is a work-around, but what do I need to do to now be able to print from InDesign, using Lion, to my EPSON WorkForce 635 printer.

Everything worked fine from Snow Leopard, but I do not want to go back to an older OS now.

I found this solution form Michael Wiwerka. It works!

Kind regards,

Kabeljauws (Lawrence Spierings)

on Adobe's forum and IT WORKS, my CS3 InDesign and CS4 Illustrator both quiet when printing (with OS X 10.7 Lion). This fix has caused no problems, but has actually fixed my printing issues.

To avoid this crash  try this workaround.

-------

remove adobe PDF PPD from the following folders:

OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/en.lproj,

OS/Library/Printers/PPDs/contents/Resources/Zh_CN.lproj,

OS/Libra

Only six posts here yet you save the day. This worked for me and I'm back in business without needing to buy the CS 5.5. Thank you for this valuable help.

Very Much Appreiciation Alsolve!

The fix above only works for me 'one time' and after shutting down and a cold boot the fix has to be completely administered again.

This will not do for me, so, $1,000.00 later and upgrade to CS5.5 I am happy to report that documents now  print from InDesign without having to save them to PDF and print from there.

Fixed.
