1. Re: Photoshop won't open Save As... dialog (not a low-res problem)
MTSTUNER Sep 7, 2011 2:00 PM (in response to Unsigned Code Labs)It could still be your screen resolution i suppose. Did you try a higher resolution setting?
The minimum requirements do say 1024x768, but 1280x800 minimum is recommended.

Unsigned Code Labs Sep 8, 2011 2:58 PM (in response to MTSTUNER)Yes, its definitely over the minimum required size, so I cannot believe that should be an issue.
My font size is the default, Normal size (96 DPI).

Noel Carboni Sep 8, 2011 3:11 PM (in response to Unsigned Code Labs)Is this on the same user account that you were having the other problems, and for which you hacked the binary to work around?
Have you tried it on another user account?
Or am I remembering the wrong person? If so I apologize. My memory for detail isn't what it used to be, and sometimes this forum isn't good at helping me find a previous post that I know exists...
Edit: Sorry, I found the post - my bad, I crossed you up with someone else.

Unsigned Code Labs Sep 20, 2011 10:02 AM (in response to Noel Carboni)No problem, it happens. I was formerly known with another name on here, I know how the confusion goes.

6. Re: Photoshop won't open Save As... dialog (not a low-res problem)
MTSTUNER Sep 8, 2011 9:19 PM (in response to Unsigned Code Labs)Your resolution is over the minimum for width, but not for height (768) and since
that is right on the cusp of the required resolution in order to display the save as
dialog, maybe due to the windows theme your using or something else different about your
monitor, once in while photoshop thinks the height resolution is not enough to display the dialog.
If you can't increase your resolution, maybe you could try using the windows classic or
stardard theme just to see if you encounter problems with the save as dialog.
Added: as always with wacky photoshop problems resetting the photoshop preferences is
also a good idea:

Do you have any third party plugins in photoshop?

Unsigned Code Labs Sep 23, 2011 7:39 PM (in response to PECourtejoie)Nope, no 3rd party thumbnail utilites, however I do still have Photoshop 7 (and it's thumbnail viewer) installed. Photoshop CS4 is also installed alongside 7.0.1; neither of these alternate Photoshops experience this problem.
