Jeff Bellune Sep 1, 2009 2:18 PM (in response to Lemonnado)Try doing a test build without the slideshow. Let us know what happens.

Lemonnado Sep 1, 2009 2:44 PM (in response to Jeff Bellune)No change.... I am replacing all media now with some tiny dummy clips so I can extract the navigation better without wrestling with large media files.
Thanks for checking in!

Lemonnado Sep 1, 2009 3:58 PM (in response to Lemonnado)I rendered in flash just to see if that has an isue as well. Well.... the project was rendered alright to a directory and the menu navigation works. But three of the 5 files have no audio rendered to them (which is included and works on the DVD preview function). When the slideshow frames switch, then the audio get's distorted and the screen flickers short in rainbow colors. Useless, but it works as far crashing. So Flash rendering works but is defective, and the DVD generation aborts. Good times... I would like to get my hands on that QA Fu**tard who is lying through is day and collects the income I am loosing because of the crap which is released. This is basic Stuff I encounter in the first hours of use. Unexcusable...
Time for some YouTube Virals to light some CEO's arse on fire. Encore seems to be butter soft... I will check what audio codecs are linked to the videos which did not render in flash. I am sure there is the problem. Since I lowered my expetations (from C++ to VB1) the problems under the Encore Hood seem to be the ones of script kids...
Yes, I am po'd

(10 hours messing with some crappy scene and only errors)...

Lemonnado Sep 2, 2009 10:48 AM (in response to Lemonnado)I created another test version with Apple's IDVD just to see if tehre is something fundamentally wrong with the media. That worked within 5 minutes. Only problem... it's IDVD and thus a lot of things are canned goods and not to be modified. But all my media worked.
I went back and started from scratch with Encore. I saved often and build every time I added or replaced something. And during that, I noticed that you can confuse the heck out of Encore when you add/delete assets and or bottons or their navigational properties. Building Slide Shows is 50/50... One slide show had to have a image less, the other had to have three aded till it rendered. While changing the menue structure, the setup became corrupted four times. Only when I started from scratch and pretty much laid out the entire disk in one shot without corrections, then it was able to create an image without the various error messages I encountered.
In any case, I got my disk done with a massive amount of annoyance and errors. I can clearly see in the xml files of problematic iterations where deficiencies are and am scared to heck to use this tool again as it is weak in many aspects. I cannot bet my next project on this.
When I tried to create a disk instead of an image the dvd player started to mount the disc and Encore crashed and send a message to Apple. I used the Disk Tool without complications to burn the image. At least the dvd was not destroyed. I can live with that.
So.... all good, but the tool seems to need more work.
Cheers
Rainer
PS: Any good alternatives to this 'product' out there? I love how it's integrated with PS and AE... so simply tossing it makes me feel angry.

5. Re: CVOBUPlanner.cpp error in line 332
Jeff.Goin Sep 10, 2011 12:40 PM (in response to Lemonnado)Here I am, after a year's work, and am now compling my project and get this exact same error. My sources are MPG's. I've used CS5 to output 7 mpg files of 1440x1080. I put all of them on the Encore timeline. I set the chapter markers, build the menus, point the menu selections to the approapriate markers, creat a playlist, make sure my audio is matched timewise, check the errors (none) and press build.
4 hours later, when it's nearly done and about to write to the disc, I get
CVOBUPlanner.cpp error in line 332 as this thread says.
Any ideas?
I'm dead in the water right now and was hoping to have this project offf for production THIS MONDAY!!!

Stan Jones Sep 10, 2011 1:51 PM (in response to Jeff.Goin)Are you on a mac?
Do you have at least one slide show in your project?
If yes to both, continue here. If not, I suggest creating a new thread.
Is your error the exact error, including the "line 332" part? If no, create a new thread even if your answers above were "yes."
If your error is the same but line 331: any chapter markers too near to each other or the end of the timeline? (Encore may add markers under some situations, so you have to zoom in on the timeline and step through).
If your error is the same but line 322: see this thread: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3286032#3286032
I do not find (via google) a line 332 error anywhere but in this thread.

Jeff.Goin Sep 10, 2011 3:07 PM (in response to Stan Jones)OK, I'll make another thread. I'm on a Win 7 64 bit machine. And yes, the error was 332.
