    It is official: Acrobat is limiting the writing (to disk) of PDF files to 2GB

      Please note that there is no limit to CREATE (in memory) larger files but you can't save them to disk.

      Therefore, it is because of poor software design. No where is it specified but that limit exist.

       

      I got someone from Adobe to admit that fact and that actually it is specified in internal documentations but they would not release it.

      I also verified that through several experiments.
