I'm starting a new project.
I import media from a folder -- 33 avi files encoded with H264 / mp3. However, I notice that each video import causes a new copy of the ffdshow video decoder to open up with the result that I get a 'low memory' message. I tested it with just a few vids (3) and although each import caused the decoder to open up it wasn't enough to get the 'low memory' warning.
My other video program doesn't do this.
Is this normal protocol for Premiere? Shouldn't one copy of the decoder work for all the videos?
Unfortunately, FFDShow has caused no end to issues with many Adobe programs. Also, it is tough to uninstall, but that would be the first thing that I would explore.
Also, FFDShow is NOT part of any Adobe program. It was installed from elsewhere, such as a CODEC "pack."
