1. Re: Cracking issuu files to obtain logo
Mylenium Sep 19, 2011 7:37 AM (in response to badchess)Don't think so. This is rendered dynamically in Flash by loading data via external files and live text insdide a viewer applet, so you would have to find out where those files on teh server are in the first place and no doubt bypass several security measures to access them directly. I guess they have their reasons to not provide PDFs... If this were a compound SWF you could simply pull it from your browser cache and run it through a Flash decompiler, but that is also prone to issues. So in the end, your current approach is as good as it gets most likely...

badchess Sep 19, 2011 7:42 AM (in response to Mylenium)Oh well.
A lot of annual reports are online as .pdf files that I can frequently get good quality files from, but every once in a while I see these guys.
Still, even the screen capture was better than what the customer supplied.

Mike Sargent Sep 19, 2011 7:54 AM (in response to badchess)If you have the full Acrobat installed, what about using the pdf printer and printing to a pdf file - works for the link provided (although the logo on the front page looks as though it was originally a raster anyway). Also quality can be a bit low because of the flash seems to handle the vectors.
