Fuzzy graphics when importing Word document

My apologies if this has been asked and answered before.

When I import a Word 2010 file into RoboHelp 9 (or 8), the screenshots grabbed with Snag-it look very low-res.  If I save the screenshot separately from the Word file, it looks fine  in a graphics editor, and find in Word, but fuzzy in RoboHelp.

Is there a fix for this?

Hi there

Your best result will be to save the images from SnagIt separately and import them into RoboHelp as a process of its own. Otherwise you are simply depending on the automated processes and you already see the result is unsatisfactory.

There are no options I'm aware of for how images are handled during a Word import.

Cheers... Rick

Well, &^*%%$!!

I really hoped they'd fixed that in V9. It's an expensive product if it

makes you do half the work yourself!

Thanks, Rick.

Hello again

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. I do suppose you might consider submitting a Wish Form/Bug Report (depending on your view) but really I'm not sure what (if anything) might be able to be done.

Link to the form is in my sig.

Cheers... Rick

What's likely happening here is that your SnagIt images are being put into Word as PNGs. RoboHelp does not import PNGs from Word so they get converted to GIF images and the conversion process is what mangles them. Save the images as GIFs in the first place, insert them via the Word menus and all will be well.

Thanks, Peter. That's it - when I edited one in a graphics editor, it was a

png. I'll look into it - thanks.
