Flash Player Problem

Hi,I am having a problem downloading and installing Flash Player,each time I try to install the software I receive the message that I have the latest version installed,strange as I do not have any version installed on my system.It has become a bit of a nuisance as some of the web sites I visit keep on asking me to install version 9 or above.What is the problem please.

My OS is Windows Vista.

Are you using Internet Explorer as your browser?  If so, please take a look at the following two FAQs that might help out:

Hi,

Please try the following steps which should resolve this error:

1. Download the stand alone uninstaller

2. Close all your browser windows

3. Run the uninstaller

4. Restart your computer

5. Delete the following folder, depending on your operating system type:

  • Windows 32bit - c:\Windows\system32\macromed
  • Windows 64bit - c:\windows\syswow64\macromed

6. Download and install Flash Player located here:

I have done everything as requested but still I have the problem.I am still being asked to download and install version 9 or greater as I do not have Flash Player installed,yet when I installed Flash Player I was being told that the instalation was successful!!!no it is not.What else can be causing the problem?
