1. Re: Burnning dual layer dvd Encore CS5.5 errors out.
Stan Jones Sep 27, 2011 3:49 AM (in response to Andrey V)Is the 9Mbps video only? Seems high. What is your max rate set to for this project?
Have you tried buildijng to folder and then setting layer break in Imgburn?
I see that you say you have tried building to a folder; but you get a "needs layer break" even then?
Sometimes no chapter breaks leaves Encore no place to put a layer break, but I think it would place one anyway.

JSS1138 Sep 27, 2011 9:59 AM (in response to Andrey V)Skip the Dynamic Link and export compliant assets out of Premiere Pro. See if that helps.

3. Re: Burnning dual layer dvd Encore CS5.5 errors out.
Andrey V Sep 27, 2011 11:01 AM (in response to Stan Jones)I have little over 2.5 hours of AVCHD project in Premiere, So I split it into two disks one is 1.5 hours one is 1.1 hours. First one is burned just fine with 9mbps for video on dual layer DVD and never had any errors for dual layer breaks with automatic break. Second project is in Encore is set exactly the same, and same assets used for menus etc. All video assets get transcoded but could not burn it to DVD popping up this stupid error.
And the most frustrating thing is that it does not matter to where I tried output the project, DVD, folder, image it is still gives the same error about layer break. Why?
The chapters set where I need them in Premiere for both encore projects. But how would that contribute to this error?
I have started project over from scratch with exactly same settings, and was able to burn Dual layer DVD, but when checked disc, i found that I missed one button routing, came back and fixed it. However after the fix, not able to burn disc, or create folder, or image Encore errors out with layer break. Why?
I have burned many DVDs the same way from AVCHD, since CS5.0 came out, never had any problems. What happened now I dont understand.
Exporting from Premiere I dont think that there is a transcoding at 9mbps to mpeg format. Plus if AME is used then chapter markers will not be encoded into mpeg file. Of course I could set them up in Encore (little extra work) but if they are already set why to redo them? Plus I have always done Encore projects this way and this is first time I get this error

So startijng from scratch worked, right? a) Start again and get it right! Then keep on and don't look back! b) Try to sort out what the common denominator is. Is it only the assets from the sequence for the second dual layer disk of this one project?

5. Re: Burnning dual layer dvd Encore CS5.5 errors out.
Andrey V Sep 27, 2011 3:22 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Yes it is the the only asset from premiere sequence, Also I got menus in psd format and 3 mov files for motion backgrounds.
Lastly project check does not find any errors.
I have burned discs before many times and was getting back to them and some times would change menus and burn disc again as many times as I wanted. Why this time is different?????

You can set it manually to that if you wish.
if AME is used then chapter markers will not be encoded into mpeg file.
No, but they do get exported in a sidecar file (.xmpses) which Encore understands and uses to automatically bring in Chapter Markers.

7. Re: Burnning dual layer dvd Encore CS5.5 errors out.
André Lena Oct 17, 2011 9:32 AM (in response to Andrey V)I'm having the same problem. not once did it, the encore was automatically break in the case of dual layer dvd. now he does not. I mark the box DUAL LAYER 8.54gb, do DVD disc or image or folder, or change the marking of the layer break from automatic tomanual, and it does not. in the end he always gives the message: duallayer requerid.
wanted to know how to do this manually break, because even in the manual or here on the website of adobe, has no suchinformation. does not show clearly how to manually break. please if someone can give a help, thank you.
