You can set this up using Areca's BIOS.
Assuming you are formatting the drives as NTFS, select the 64bit LBA setting under the BIOS' - Main Menu > Quick Volume/Raid Setup > Raid # ... this should open the window "Greater Two TB Volume Support" then select "Use 64bit LBA".
This will show the total usable space as one partition. You can also do this using Areca's browser based manager.

Harm Millaard Sep 27, 2011 3:06 PM (in response to rowby)Michael gave you the solution. By using 64 bit LBA in the BIOS of the Areca you circumvent the MBR limitation and use GPT instead. Then the whole array is shown as a single disk, although unallocated in Windows. You still need to format the disk in Windows, as explained here: Adobe Forums: How to access more than 2 TB of disk...
