1. Re: CS5 installed cant associate file with CS4
c.pfaffenbichler Sep 26, 2011 11:12 PM (in response to mckayk_777)Tried to associate illustrator indesign & photoshop files to CS4 but the system keeps defaulting back to CS5
You mean you changed »Open with« in the Finder’s File Info window and checked »Change All«?
Or are you talking about opening from Bridge?

Tai Lao Sep 27, 2011 8:57 PM (in response to mckayk_777)If you are double-clicking on an image file to launch the application, the newest version of the application will always launch.
If you want to use an older version, you need to quit the newer version and then open the older version of the application. Then use the File menu in Photoshop, File > Open, to open your file in the older version first.
You cannot open an earlier version of Photoshop if a newer one is already running. Newer versions, yes.

mckayk_777 Sep 27, 2011 10:22 PM (in response to Tai Lao)I have just been informed by her that having the programs (CS4) running when she double clicks any file it will open in CS4.
So now she just has those 3 programs starting at login and problem solved, thank you Tai Lao and cpfaffenbichler for assistance
