do you have the installer downloaded locally?

can you look in your "/Library/Internet Plug Ins" directory and make sure the following files are not there

  • Flash Player.plugin
  • flashplayer.xpt

if you see them, please delete the 2 files and attempt the install again.

yikes...  let's start fresh.

download the uninstaller here: Uninstaller

double check the /Library/Internet Plug Ins directory does not have those flash player files

double check you home ~/Library/Internet Plug Ins directory (if it exists) for the same files

double click the installer dmg and save the installer onto your desktop or your preferred location

quit out of all programs and double click the installer

the home Library directory maps to this: /Users/<yourUserName>/Library/Internet Plug-Ins

Lion hides it by default.  the easiest way to get to it...

  • when in Finder click the Menu Item "Ablage"
  • hold down the alt/option key and select "In neuem Fenster öffnen schließen"
