Hi, I have a Notebook with Vista Business 32-bit installed,
Since I upgraded to Flash Player 11, every time I restart Windows Explorer o Firefox it asks to install the Flash Plugin.
I tried to unistall Flash Player with the uninstall utility and reinstall it. After that, the plugin seems to work properly on IE anf Firefox, but if I restart the computer it asks again to install Flash Player 11.
I had no problems with the previuos version of Flash...
Anyone can help me?
Thank you

After the restart, does the Shockwave Flash add-on show as enabled in either IE or FF?

No unfortnately after the restart I can't see any Flash add-on enabled
on Internet Explorer and Firefox.
If I reinstall the plugin it works properly since I restart...

Can you tell me what files you have in C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash after a restart?

After a restart I see:
Flash11c.ocx
FlashInstall.log
flashplayer.xpt
FlashUtil11c_AciveX.dll
FlashUtil11c_AciveX.exe
FlashUtil11c_Plugin.exe
NPSWF32.dll

This looks perfectly normal!
Can you report your issue using the instructions in http://forums.adobe.com/thread/889577

Could you help me with an experiment? I have the suspicion that somehow the ocx/dll gets unregistered during the restart.
Open a Command Prompt (cmd.exe) and type the following sequence of commands
cd %windir%\system32\macromed\flash
regsvr32 Flash11c.ocx
regsvr32 NPSWF32.dll
exit
Do you get any error messages during this?
If not, does Shockwave Flash Object show up in IE or FF add-ons? Does Flash Player work now?

Hi Pat, in the meanwhile I think I have solved the problem.
I uninstalled the Flash Player with the Adobe uninstall tool as I did
the previous times, but this time I also manually deleted the
C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash directory and the FlashInstall.log
file that was persiting even after the delete. I had to change the
read/write permissions on that file since it was only readable, then I
could delete the entire directory. I reinstalled the flash plugins, and
now they seem all working properly even after a restart.
Thank you for your support: I would never had the idea to try this
solution if you if didn't tell me to control the contents of that directory!

Thanks for the feedback! I will ask the other user that currently has the same problem to try that approach as well. However, I cannot quite understand why/how that FlashInstall.log file would have caused this...?
Anyway, glad it's now working!

YES! This worked for me! great job, both Otelletto and Pat!
I have been battling this issue for a couple of months, and sat down today to see if anyone had a fix.
Deleting the log info did the trick after a clean uninstall , then I did a re-install of 11 .
Many Thanks!
