Hi,
I have created a robohelp project by importing a word document. The document has all the information in tabular format but there are no borders to the table.
When I generate a CHM file from this it looks and works fine in all the respect.
But when a web help is generated the final output the alignment of the text in table is disturbed.
Screenshot of the chm output.
The screenshot of the web help output created from robohelp.
This error continues for the entire web help.
Please assist me with this issue.
Regards,
Neelam Kulkarni.

It's a bit difficult to tell as you have included screenshots of different topics. What I am seeing in the second screenshot is the information in each step starts a line below the step whereas in the first screenshot it is inline with the step. I am assuming that is intentional. The details of each step appear to align with the end of the the step number in both cases. What alignment exactly is it that you are not happy with?
Are you using the same CSS for both and is the webhelp the same in all browsers.

Actually the first screenshot is of the 'chm' file. and Second is of the web
help.
In the webhelp alignment of the text is disturbed I want the text to be in
line with the numbers as they are in table.
I have not applied any different CSS as this project is created from an
imported word document and the CSS remains the same for them (actually its
the automatically created by RoboHelp)
I want the web help alignment to be fixed as that is what will be published
to our application server.

Neelam.

Yes I realised one screenshot was of a topic in the CHM and the other was of a topic in the webhelp, my point was they were not of the same topic in the different help formats.
Select any topic you like and change the CSS used for that topic to default.css. If you regenerate both formats, does the problem still exist?
If it does, see if the topics have these meta tags if you look in the HTML View. If they do, remove them.
<meta name=Originator content=ImportDoc>
<meta name=OriginalFile content="filename.doc">
If still wrong, is the table width set to 100%?
Also I asked if you had checked the appearance in other browsers than whatever you are using. You might want to check that first.

Right click in a table and select Table Properties where you can set the table width to 100% if that has not already been done.
Is there some reason you do not tell us whether the problem is the same in different browsers?

We are only supporting IE so am not bothered about others.

Yes but it would identify if the problem is the browser, never mind.
Is it the same in IE7, 8 and 9?
