Where is this extra blank frame coming from?

      I am using:

      Flash CS4

      Sothink SWF to Video Converter

      Encore CS4

In Flash, I create two documents (30 fps with a total of 3000 and 6000 frames) and then publish two.swf files. I use Sothink SWF to Video Converter to create the .avi files. I import these files into Encore and place them back to back on the same timeline. For some reason, the .avi files now have one extra blank (black) frame at the end, so when I play the sequence on the timeline, I see the image flicker. Basically, the end of the first .avi contains the same image as the beginning of the second .avi so in theory the transition between them should be seamless. I've opened each .avi file into Vegas just to see what it shows the last frame to be - Vegas shows the last frame as it should (no blank frame). Even if I try to trim the video in Encore, I still have one blank frame at the end of the video - if the video has 3000 frames, frame 2999 will be blank/black - if I trim the video to 2000 frames, frame 1999 will be a blank/black frame. I'm not talking about seeing a blank frame at the VERY end of the video file, I'm talking about seeing 1 blank frame BEFORE the very last frame.

To me, this seems like Encore is the issue. I wouldn't think 1 frame out of 30 could cause a visual flicker - is the eye 'that' fast?

Don't create two separate files.  Create one SWF and convert that to a single AVI.

It's not that simple. These are old-ish Flash documents in which an image slideshow type of animation was created. There are way too many frames to copy/paste. Also, there is a total of four swf files (I just mentioned two in the example).

I figured out what was going on late last night. On one of the converted avi files (where the flickering was coming from) the audio track (for some weird reason) extended a few frames beyond the video track, so the adjoining video clip was aligning to the end of the audio track (which resulted in an extra empty frame in between the two vidoe clips). The audio in the Flash document is set to stream (so it can keep up with some of the animation), so I'm going to take out the audio from the Flash document and just add it into Encore (then I can trim the tracks individually).
