Install Flash Player Externally?

Howdy!

I'm trying to install Flash Player through a painfully slow dial-up connection. The computer is a 64-bit machine running Windows 7 Home Premium. After spending two days getting all the Windows updates installed (remember "painfully slow dial-up connection) I attempted to install Flash Player. I'm able to download the installation software from the Internet but after several attempts at installation of Flash Player where it simply stops halfway through the installation and does nothing I finally got the message that I must install the software externally. Any ideas?

Thank you in advance.
