John T Smith Oct 21, 2011 9:44 AM (in response to Eliran S)>windows 7 pro version or windows 7 ultimate
Win7 Pro is all you need... Ultimate is really only for a work/networked environment, since it has added security "features" that MAY be hard to manage for a video editing computer
There are already enough security "oddities" with Win7 (such as the need to right click the Encore icon and select "Run as Administrator" to be able to create a dual layer DVD) that adding another layer of complexity is just not needed

Eliran S Oct 22, 2011 11:11 PM (in response to Bill Gehrke)Dear John & Bill,
Thanks a lot for your answers.
Can anyone confirm the power supply issue I have?
I'll repeat my question, I have ordered Antec High Current Gamer Series HCG-900 900W http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371050
Is this model quality enough?
I thought about purchasing the pro series, High Current Pro HCP-750 750W http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817371052&Tpk=antec%20pro%20750,
but it's 36$ expensier in my country.
Am I good to go with the first choice?
Regards & Best,
Eliran.

Harm Millaard Oct 23, 2011 12:56 AM (in response to Eliran S)You only want a Gold Label PSU, so that would mean only the second option is feasible. The first link is only Bronze Label and that is not good enough for extended periods of heavy load.
Go to eXtreme Power Supply Calculator and get the Pro version. Then enter all your components, including planned expansions or extra disks for the future, including USB and FW devices, fans, etc.
Put system load at 100%, capacitor aging at 30% and then add 10-15% to the calculated wattage for safety. Pay attention to the amperage on each rail. Not every PSU delivers the required amperage on each rail as required for your system, even when the total wattage is enough.

Eliran S Oct 23, 2011 1:41 AM (in response to Harm Millaard)Harm thanks,
I have used the calculator and ended up with 780w.
I went for the HCP-850 eventually.
I really apperciate your (and the others) help.
Looking forward testing the new hardware with the benchmark tool .
