installed but not recognized

i had a version 10 adobe player when i updated it to a 11 it didnt update so i uninstalled it and looked at forums for solution and found the mirror links for player 11. I got it installed and i can even see it in my control panel uninstall programs but when i try to go to youtube, it says i need to download an adobe flash player. I checked the add on on my mozilla and it adobe flash doesnt appear on it.
