Right-Click not working in published projects

Hi all!

I create a project with a slide that contains a Click Box.

Pause for Success/Failure Captions, Pause Project until user clicks and Right-click are the selected options.

When i preview the project all works fine, on righ-clicking the box the project continues.

When i publish, the right-click doesn't work anymore. I get the Failure caption.

I tried this on a Mac and on the Windows version of Captivate 5.5

I tried this publishing to Flash, to a Windows and an Apple executable. All the same behavior.

Is this a bug or am i doing something wrong?

Thanks,

Ton.

Did you disable 'Enable Accessibility' in the Publish Settings (Preferences, Project)?

The right-click functionality is in the JS-file that is created when publishing to SWF. You need to start the project from the HTML-file that calls the JS-file and starts the SWF.

Yes, i switched this off because of the message you get when you publish:

Assuming that the Right-Clicks will behave as Left-Clicks when Enable Accessibility is set o true. That's not what i want.

Hi Tom

Where are you testing from? You may need to actually upload to a web server before right-clicking will work.

Perhaps start by viewing the information at the link below and see if it helps.

Yeah, i found out that Captivate created Flash videos only work correctly when hosted on a webserver. I see that as a major inconvenience. Not all consumers of my videos have a webserver at hand. In fact, 99% of them will run the videos from their PC's harddrive.

Any solution for this?

Hello again

One way around it is to supply a very light WebServer that tricks the Operating System into believing the files are coming from a server.

You might check out Server2Go for these cases.
