Set the "Design" view to: editing state:All

How do you set the "editing state" in the design view to "ALL"

If this is not possible the design view is a potential cause for bugs (the hey, why did the airplane suddenly crash type of bug).

I fully agree that there really should be a "View All States" in the design view dropdown.  That being said, when you add any component to the UI using design view, you need to make sure to set the "In states:" value in the right-side attributes section under the Common section.  That way you don't have to go back into Source mode to set this.  I've just made a habit of it now whenever I add a component.
