    Unable to Import

    Deep Woods Community Member

On a new computer with Windows 7 I’m trying to import RAW files from a Canon and Nikon camera that have never been imported previously into Lr.. When opening the Import interface all files are greyed out along with the import button when I select the folders that the files are in. No matter what option I choose, Copy to DNG, Copy, Move etc. this remains the same.  In all cases, the import button is greyed out and I can’t import. I understand how this would happen on images previously imported, but I have only started using Lr on this computer so nothing has been imported yet.

I have both CS3 and Bridge installed that I currently use. Could either of these be interfering?

      Thank you for your time,

This is not the final answer.

LR and Bridge do not share the same database, so, if you use both, there might be no problem with that.

I know you said that those images have never been import, but have you tried to search for them inside lightroom, to make sure that those aren't really imported?

Have you tried to Optmize your Catalog and Check it Integrity, so maybe it can be some bad things in database?

The solution was found. I abandoned the old catalog and created a new one. Everything is working find now.
