Tutorial Player on a different computer?

    M2Harris

How do I run Tutorial Player on a one computer to control Photoshop on another computer? For instance Tutorial Player on a PC and Photoshop on a Macintosh.

          Hi M2Harris,

You should be able to run Tutorial Player on your PC and control Photoshop on your Mac. All you have to do is install Tutorial Player on your PC and connect to the Photoshop that is running on the Mac. Check the IP address of that computer under Edit>Remote Connections in Photoshop. If it says that the Adress not available, go to your Mac's System Preferences and click on the Network icon. Under Status, you should see the IP address listed.

Let me know if this works for you!

          Thanks!

            Mira,

Thank you very much for the instructions for getting the PC to control the Mac with the Tutorial Player. Works great.

            My next question is:

In your video tutorial, it looks like you are using the iPad to control the Computer. I have an iPad and would like to use it. What do I need to do?

Thanks for you time and effort in helping everyone resolve the problems.

            Best regards,

            Merle

              Hi Merle,

We will be releasing the source code for that iPad app soon. If you are a programmer and know how to use Xcode, you will be able to compile that source code and install the iPad app by yourself. We are also working on getting a version out on iTunes, so that those who are not programmers can install it direclty on their iPads and iPhones.

How do you envision using Tutorial Builder and the Tutorial Player apps? Are you a content creator who already has a blog where you publish tutorial content?

              Thanks!

                Hi Mira,

I am a Mathmatics Teacher and I also teach Adobe Photoshop. I think that this Tutorial Builder will be a real asset to Instructors, especially in the classroom.

I am really anxious to be able to get the Turorial Player on the iPad. I am not a programmer, so will have to wait for the iTunes version. Hope it won't be long.

Thanks again for your assistance and for providing a great application.

                Best regards,

                Merle

Hi Mira, it's been a while now and there still isn't an source code for the iPad app available as I'm aware off

Can you please share the source code and/or tell when we can suspect something?

Is tutorial builder part of PS CS6 ?

                    Hi Jeroen,

                    Thanks for being patient!

Today we released a version of Tutorial Player for the iPad in the Apple app store (http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/adobe-tutorial-player-for/id506852026?ls=1&mt=8). Try it out and let us know what you think.

We will soon be posting an update to Tutorial Builder and will share source code. We hope to soon offer an easy way to publish your tutorials to Tutorial Player for the iPad.

Thanks for continuing to check in with us. We are continuing to work on this project and love getting feedback from you and everyone else.

                    Mira
