Re: Is InDesign CS5.5 Supported CS Extension Builder
In my experience, the max version set to CS5.5 broke with the 7.5.1 update. I only got my extensions to work leaving the max value blank...
Update on this issue reported by Harbs. When setting the max version to be InDesign CS5.5, Extension Builder creates a version range for you like this:
<Host Name="IDSN" Version="[7.0,7.5]" />
Which is actually shorthand for:
<Host Name="IDSN" Version="[7.0.0,7.5.0]" />
As you can imagine, this works just fine for InDesign 7.5.0, but doesn't work when InDesign updates to 7.5.1. This is a bug in Extension Builder. Currently, there are two possible workarounds:
- Remove the max version.
- Manually change the version range in the manifest so that the upper bound will include these sort of updates to InDesign. To have your extension load in all versions of InDesign 7.5 use an exclusive upper bound: [7.0,7.6). Now your extension will work for 7.5.1, 7.5.2, etc.
Note that if you opt for #2, the Bundle Manifest Editor will unfortunately not play nicely with your manifest, this is another issue we're looking to fix in Extension Builder. Sorry for the inconvenience.
