Hello, is there a simple way to make a pdf file smaller. E.g. to convert 2Mb file into 100-200Kb file in one or 2 steps?

And is there a program to make it for several files - folder - in one action?

In Acrobat a PDF can be optimized. The results depend on how the PDF file

was created and what kind of contents it has.

If you have Acrobat Pro then you can use this command in a batch process

(or Action) to process multiple files in one action.

a. I have Adobe Reader 8.

b. creation: conversion from Word file, not scan.

I usually create files 2 ways:

1. 'save as pdf' at work (not sure what a program does it, can`t check today)

2. I have a PDF Creator installed at home, so I print on 'printer' PDF Creator

c. content: any. currently mostly pictures, ot text with pictures

(You're posting in the wrong forum. There's a separate forum for Reader.)

Reader can't optimize PDF files. You must have Acrobat for that.

Don't know what's "PO", but no, you can't do it with just Reader.

Reader is just that, a viewing tool. There are some features that can be activated by the PDF creator, but nothing that can be done directly in Reader. It may be that there is not much to be done anyway, depending on the file content.
