Hi,
I've been using Captivate since back when it was RoboDemo, and I've never encountered this issue before. We are trying to do a simulation capture of some proprietary software, which has been in use for years, for a client. Once in Record mode, the End key will not stop the recording. We've tried changing the key to other strokes and combinations to no avail. We've also tried loading the software onto a different computer. The recording will end if we shut down the software, but only a few screens will have been captured. Has anyone else encountered this issue, and were you able to resolve it?
TIA,
katnap

We've also tried using the Captivate taskbar icon, which does not work, and minimizing the program, which ends the recording but loses the work. Any insights would be appreciated.

Hello,
It seems that Captivate is perhaps corrupted? Did it ever work or is this just a recent issue? What is the version, most recent is 5.0.2.630?
If it is a recent issue, try clearing the Cache (Preferences) and perhaps deleting the preferences folder, while CP is closed. This folder is labeled Adobe Captivate 5.0 and is to be found in your profile. For Win7, this is the path:
C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\Adobe Captivate 5 folder

Thanks, Lilybiri. Joe Ganci was at our office and he checked it out. It turns out that there is something about the way the software is programmed that stops screen captures in the Automatic and Print Screen modes on certain screens. We are able to record in FMC and then take screen grabs from there. It's not very efficient, but it works.
