    Text Editing + Filters/Effects

    ThaQuest

1st Question: Is there any other way to edit text attributes aside from the parameters on the top bar? I'm looking for a bit more options, such as word stretching...(coming from CS5...)

2nd question: Is there an easier way to preview the Filter/Effects from the sidebar? I can only preview if I go up into the top navigation window, but using from the sidebar I can only apply first to see the effect.

      Thanks!

You can stretch by selecting the move tool then clicking the text to reveal the transform bounding box. Pressing shift or Ctrl+Shift when dragging the corner or side handles permits some different scaling but there is no warp tool and obviously somewhat limited in PSE up to version 9. PSE10 has a few extra options such as text on a path and shape. Filter effects usually show up in the main window as soon as they are applied. Ctrl+Z to undo.

            1.  If you mean that you want to increase the space between characters, you can use this script:

            2.  One option to preview the effects is to set the Effects panel to open the effect in the Filter Gallery:  Click the down arrow for the panel and select the option:
