able123 Nov 14, 2011 11:44 AM (in response to davidbeisner2010)HIYA ! Its great to see you !!! That's great news re: your son .. hehe...say hi for me ..
SNAKES... I just put this together for a guy who did a real nice film ( see thread about promoting the film thing )..
I didnt like the title much so I suggested maybe this instead...just an idea, you know...and he really LOVED it !

Well, maybe he didn't really love it but you know... it takes a while to get into the snake thing....
Sounds like you had fun with shooting and having some equipment to play with... my personal favorite on those trucks is the sandbags...especially when they get wet ..... you get into this sorta 'mantra' thing when moving a lot of sandbags around and it creates a peaceful quiet spiritual mood within.
did you lay track down and use skateboard wheels on filmair track or did you use the fisher track ??
I wish you could send me stuff to edit.. I have NOTHING to work with now. boo hoo.
It is in fact ALMOST beer thirty !!!! First I have to go to libary and food shop and then it will probably be beer thirty. Maybe last beer thirty for several days running because I just got a notice from NY State that they would like me to fill out my state tax forms from 2006 to the present ( which I have neglected to do ). They seem rather serious about me doing this pronto....
Which means I also have to do my federal tax forms ( file ) for 2009 and 2010. Every flat surface in my apartment will have piles of reciepts and forms and papers for days....
ACK ! what a nightmare !

davidbeisner2010 Nov 14, 2011 11:51 AM (in response to able123)Ah, so you're robodog... why the new screen name?
And yes, I liked the snakes idea :-)
No track for the fischer, just ran it on it's own wheels... worked fairly well. Most of our shots just used the boom and our 4' slider though, so we only had a few shots that we had to dolly on.
I wish you could edit this stuff for me! Editing is my least favorite part--i'll do the shooting, the grading and the sound any day, but coming up with the story is the part I like the least...

You qualify for perpetual beer-thirty, but that will be counterproductive... They do get rather serious....
Welcome back David! I can't believe he's 9 months already!

ITS BEER THIRTY ! YIPEE !
did the library and food shopping and now for the last beer thirty for a few days...
Yes, luckily I never owe money but am always owed money so they tend to be slightly less stern and severe with me...
but nevertheless they do like the paperwork and the " fact" of whats up in front of them and I should really not be so late obviously...its just such a royal pain in butt to do ( even my bed will be covered with folders and papers for days ! )
so tomorrow begins the paperwork nightmare... oh well.. I'll feel better when its done.
Dave, yes, I love the editing part now... have had my fill of the shoot crews etc... but I dont think I would love editing something I hated ( like some cop show.... csi or law and order stuff would drive me mad ).

5. Re: I'm back!!
able123 Nov 14, 2011 2:06 PM (in response to able123)still beer thirty ! tried finding some form I made ( custom thing made in quark xpress years ago ) to do fed taxes.. and cant find it on this computer ! ACK ! Will try old computer later...see if its there.
I tried to get work on batman movie over weekend ( as camera crane operator ) but didnt work out...but I did follow the news about the shoot.. they closed 59 st bridge upper level for a couple days / nights for shoot over weekend.
some local neighbors who live in those high rises near bridge on queens side... saw some guy in a batman costume hanging by a rope or something from the bridge and thought it was some maniac trying to kill himself of something so they all called the police emergency number ( 911 ).
The police were inundated with 911 emergency calls about a " person dressed up like a bat " trying to kill himself.
thousands of phone calls.
very strange city we live in...."expect the unexpected" is the motto of most new yorkers.
