I have tried to install the new flash player twice now and both times my Webroot AV tells me there if a virus associated when I am in the middle of installing.

c:\users\xxxxxxx\appdata\local\temp\3b5a.tmp

c:\users\xxxxxxx\appdata\local\temp\e33c.tmp

I have had rogue viruses before from installing flash player or java from the correct associated website. Why is this? Is instaling the new flash player really a threat?

Most likely your AV definitions are outdated.

Also, try the full installer(s) from http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550

I checked my AV for updates and there were none. I tried to download from the link you listed above and my AV picked up this file as being a threat

That installer has been available since Nov. 11, and I think other users would have noticed if it contained any malware.

I think you should contact your AV manufacturer.
