3. Re: Why doesn't "Elements 10 Editor only" allow the use of Nik Software plug ins??
Barbara B. Nov 17, 2011 11:02 AM (in response to 99jon)Thanks, 99jon. I don't use NIK so didn't know about that. But there's the path when they do, dtspin3333.

photodrawken Nov 17, 2011 2:39 PM (in response to 99jon)It appears that at least one of their plugins works on PSE10 -- I've got their ColorEfex Pro 3.0 (Wacom edition) that came with my Wacom tablet and the plugin works as it should. Just a minor problem with displaying the Layer Panel size images in the options for the panel.

6. Re: Why doesn't "Elements 10 Editor only" allow the use of Nik Software plug ins??
dtspin3333 Nov 17, 2011 5:30 PM (in response to Barbara B.)Thank you, Barbara! I spent considerable time today on the phone with Nik Software. Both Viveza and Color Efex will work on the full version of Elements 10. NOT on the version "Elements 10 EDITOR ONLY". The reason is because Adobe did not include a plug in folder when they released Elements 10 EDITOR ONLY. Thanks, Barbara for the screen shot..however, the Editor only version has no folders at all!!! It's really strange. Why would Adobe release an Editor Only version of Elements that doesn't work with plug ins? I allowed Nik Software techs remote access to my Mac, and while version 9 has the same folder breakdown you provided, this Editor Only version of 10 has nothing except the application icon! You have been wonderfully helpful as usual, Barbara, thank you very much. It looks, though that I just wasted $80. Oh well, back to PSE9 !
Here's an update....using your method..I was able to find a folder for plug-ins within the program file. Used it to try and install Viveza and Color Efex, but Adobe says it "does not accept that type of file".

Yes it does. That screen shot is from the editor only version of PSE 9 and I'm 100% sure PSE 10 is the same. They are INSIDE the application itself. Right-click it and choose Show Package Contents.

8. Re: Why doesn't "Elements 10 Editor only" allow the use of Nik Software plug ins??
dtspin3333 Nov 18, 2011 6:56 AM (in response to Barbara B.)Barbara.....Success! Here is how it worked. If you use the installation process from Nik Software (open the downloaded program) you will not be able to right-click the Elements 10 Editor icon as it will be greyed out). So, I went into Finder, right-clicked on the Elements 10 Editor icon (as per your instructions) then copied/pasted the whole Nik Software package into the plug in folder. And it worked! Kind of a backward way of doing it, but success is success!
Thank you for your help!!
