Retrieving Install is stuck

Windows 7 64-bit

Install file from adobe.com

I have tried running and saving, but the result is always the same. It downloads and then a screen comes up with a status bar that is labeled Retrieving Installation. No matter how long I leave it up there the status bar remains at 0%.

I have uninstalled the previous version of Flash Player and tried to install.

I have also followed other suggestions that I found in this forum for other problems; including using various links for install. Nothing is working.

Where can I find direct downloads of Flash Player 11 for Windows or Macintosh?
