1. Re: White Border created in PDF docs from InDesign CS5 -how to get rid of it
P Spier Nov 28, 2011 9:04 AM (in response to sbrooke)Can't tell much from that. Can you post a screen shot of the page area in ID with frame edges showing?

3. Re: White Border created in PDF docs from InDesign CS5 -how to get rid of it
P Spier Nov 28, 2011 9:39 AM (in response to sbrooke)Would you mind zooming in on the lower right corner in ID and selecting the blue frame?
What is shown for Steoke on that frame as far as weight, color and alignment (inside, centered, outside)?

P Spier Nov 28, 2011 10:36 AM (in response to sbrooke)So far, everything here looks as it should. One more question, though. With the frame selected, and the lower right corner selected in the transformation proxy in the control panel, doe the X-coordiante matchthe page width, and the Y-coordinate the page height? (Double-click the ruler intersection to be sure it resets the zero point to the upper left corner of the page.

6. Re: White Border created in PDF docs from InDesign CS5 -how to get rid of it
sbrooke Nov 28, 2011 10:44 AM (in response to sbrooke)Yes -for the full-bleed front cover - for the blue box -it is the same as the Y coordinate (it is all set up for screen presentation) and it is being exported as interactive PDF.

P Spier Nov 28, 2011 10:49 AM (in response to sbrooke)Does it change if you edit the preferences in Acrobat to turn off smoothing and/or enhace thin lines?

10. Re: White Border created in PDF docs from InDesign CS5 -how to get rid of it
P Spier Nov 28, 2011 10:58 AM (in response to sbrooke)Any differnce if you export to PDF (Print) instead of interactive? I'm totally perplexed here. I've been assuming that the blue frame is a native oject with a blue fill, not some sort of placed art. Is that right?

11. Re: White Border created in PDF docs from InDesign CS5 -how to get rid of it
sbrooke Nov 28, 2011 11:05 AM (in response to P Spier)No - no difference. Yes - it has been driving me INSANE.
The blue frame is just a rounded corner box in InDesign (yes native). That is it. On the front cover it is just a plain red box -that I have deleted and replaced several times to see if it was some odd setting. I cannot figure it out for the life of me.

12. Re: White Border created in PDF docs from InDesign CS5 -how to get rid of it
P Spier Nov 28, 2011 11:11 AM (in response to sbrooke)Pobably won't help, but ti won't hurt to try any of these things:
Remove minor corruption by exporting
Create a new user account and try that.

13. Re: White Border created in PDF docs from InDesign CS5 -how to get rid of it
Tom Usrey Nov 28, 2011 1:38 PM (in response to sbrooke)If you add a slight amount of bleed to the red box and export to PDF (even without including bleed), do you still get the white line?

14. Re: White Border created in PDF docs from InDesign CS5 -how to get rid of it
sbrooke Nov 28, 2011 1:41 PM (in response to Tom Usrey)Yes - and it doesn't crop out if you crop it.
I sent it to a colleague and he doesn't see it at all - thinking it is somehow hanging on as a visual for me. I sent him the screen shot - he sees that no problem but when he opens the PDF he doesn't get it. So not sure what the deal is.

MT.Freelance Nov 28, 2011 2:06 PM (in response to sbrooke)I deleted the message on the forum once I re-read the thread and saw you
were in Acrobat. The question (for other readers) was regarding possible
use of Apple Preview that might not reder the PDF accurately. As that is
not an issue:
What (if anything) is different bewteen your applications or computer and
that of your colleague?
Does editing your Acrobat Preferences for Page DIsplay > Rendering improve
anything?
If the artifact is not in your design and is not showing up on a different
machine, then it likely is something that is happening on your system.
