    Multiple inputs?

    minning Community Member

I'm interested in developing Pixel Bender filters for Photoshop. Having already prepared some in the Pixel Bender Toolkit I was expecting it to be simple to use them in Photoshop using the provided plug-in, but  it appears there is no way to use more than one image as an input. Unfortunately this makes many of the ideas I have impossible to implement.

Am I missing something here or is it really not possible to use multiple inputs for Pixel Bender filters in Photoshop? If so, can we expect this omission to be fixed in an upcoming version of the plug-in? As it is it's not useful to me at all.

I'm also having this issue - a number of Pixel Bender plugins - including those on this website - give the error that they cannot be run because they require more than one image input, despite being indicated as FOR Photoshop.
Is this a problem specific to the Photoshop plugins - ie: will these plugings only work in After Effects, for example?

I just ran across this as well! It severely limits the possibilities for filters in photoshop, one of my first ideas that got me really excited for Pixel Bender is impossible.

It's seems absolutely silly not to be able to, as the simple Toolkit can do this, yet the mighty Photoshop can't?

I'm actually quite dissapointed in the support for PB from Adobe, they make it sound really great, yet in the end it fails to realize a lot of its potential...

This is on the list for future features for the plug-in. After Effects does support multiple input for filters by providing a mechanism to chose which layer maps to which input. Something like this would be a goal for a future version of the PS plug-in.
