Why am I receiving error messages when using my ID in process to download a library book?

I am trying to set up my iPad to download a library book. When I use my Adobe ID, and hit return, I get an error message. I've checked my ID, and it is set up, so I don't understand the problem. The error message is no. 2004, authorization request issues. Any advice?
