General Installation Error

I m tried to install Flash player on Windows XP. Flash Player Version is 11. But after downloading 50% it gives me general installation error.

It seems that the installer is unable to remove/replace NPSWF32.dll

Try the following:

  • go to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550 and download
    • the 32-bit uninstaller [save to disk]
    • the 32-bit installer(s) [save to disk]
  • close all browser windows, then run the downloaded uninstaller
  • restart Windows
  • go to C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash and delete any remaining files in there
  • now run the downloaded installer

I don't think the uninstaller is going to work because it's programmed to look on C: while your OS is installed on D:

What I suggest you do is to go to Add/Remove Programs and uninstall it from there.
