Does that mean that using a field order of lower or upper does not do de-interlacing or does it still perform de-interlacing? Because I have always heard that you should always de-interlace the output footage for better quality. In which case I should always use progressive as the output field order? This s all a little confusing because I am not sure what is going on here.

I am now about to export to DVD under similar circumstances as we speak. (HDV and DSLR footage together) and am going to use my experience from that thread.
