1. Re: Unable to save as JPEG
Noel Carboni Dec 8, 2011 9:08 AM (in response to on5lb)I think you need to be just a bit more specific...
How, exactly, did you facilitate the conversion? Did you use one of the provided scripts? Create your own action?
Or did you just go through the File - Open and File - Save processes by hand? If so, where did you tell Photoshop to save the file? That's under YOUR control...

Curt Y Dec 8, 2011 9:51 AM (in response to on5lb)It could be your file is in 16 bit format and for jpeg you need 8 bit. Click on Mode to find out.

on5lb Dec 8, 2011 10:01 AM (in response to Curt Y)Hi Curt,
My thanks for your reply.
You're right, i remembered i used DPP app from Canon to correct all photos, and they are indeed in 16bit format.
Best regards,

Noel Carboni Dec 8, 2011 11:38 AM (in response to on5lb)Jean, I'm sorry; I guess you had made a few too many typos for me to understand what you wrote; on re-reading it in the context of the answer, it's now clear what you were asking.
Just one additional thing: This limitation has been removed in Photoshop CS5 and newer. Even if you have a 16 bits/channel master document, File - Save As exposes the JPEG format without your having to change modes.

on5lb Dec 8, 2011 12:28 PM (in response to Noel Carboni)No problems Noel,
But you gave me an interresting information about the CS5 version.
I was intend to buy the latest master collection, but so far, i'm happy using CS4 suit.
Will Adobe deliver CS6 soon ? (i will not be surprised !).

Jean

7. Re: Unable to save as JPEG
Noel Carboni Dec 8, 2011 12:36 PM (in response to on5lb)No one can give a date definitively, but most folks anticipate the CS6 release in mid 2012 as Adobe management has stated that they've moved to a 2 year major version release cycle, and Photoshop CS5 was released in April 2010.
You should also know that they've announced a change to a new upgrade pricing strategy where a discount is provided only for one major version back. Thus, upgrade pricing will not apply to your CS4. Yeah, most folks think that sucks.

And yes, i recieved a mail concerning the upgrade, but as i said so far, the CS4 is doing the job i need.

Jean
