Rick Gerard Dec 8, 2011 5:49 PM (in response to AudoWarp)Whoa Whoa big fella!!!
You must not use Ctrl/Cmnd + F unless the proportions of your photo exactly match the proportions of your AE Comp. This fits an image horizontally and vertically. You must check the scale. If the values are uneven then you have distorted your image.
Instead you should always use Shift + CTRL/CMND + H to fit the image horizontally. This preserves the aspect ratio of the image, works in non square pixel comps, and will never distort the original photos. I can't think of a single time where I've used CTRL/CMND + F. It's too dangerous!!!!

4. Re: Snap to fit photos automatically into comp size.
AudoWarp Dec 8, 2011 10:48 PM (in response to Rick Gerard)Doesn't bother me at all, Rick.
In this instance--with many of my subjects, the distortion is hidden within the subterfuge of the organic shapes.
I am not willing to scrifice any of the sky, nor any of the ground. Left and right ---a little fuge room sometimes.
Its still cool, and it still works for this purpose.
YOu wouldn't believe how long I fiddled with trying to line up a corner.....

5. Re: Snap to fit photos automatically into comp size.
AudoWarp Dec 8, 2011 10:54 PM (in response to Rick Gerard)Shift Ctrl H simply hides my layer bounding box in the comp window--it doesn't fit the image horizontally.

I got two keyboard shortcuts for the price of one!
I'm sure this one will come in handy too.
