davidbeisner2010 Dec 8, 2011 6:21 AM (in response to Ann Bens)Didn't know about Ctrl, thanks, Ann... If I used Firefox that little trick would be helpful, but I'm a Chrome user...
I suppose it's just the principle of best practice in web design and development that is bugging me the most about this... I know there are ways around it, but best practice says do it in design. Oh well. Long day yesterday, I guess that was just me venting!

Doesn't work in Firefox the way you want it to. Unless the link itself is coded to open in a new window, it'll still open in the same tab.
And I have to agree with David on this one. Links should always open in a new 'whatever', without us having to code them that way.

Bill Hunt Dec 8, 2011 5:21 PM (in response to davidbeisner2010)Dave,
Some links DO open a New Tab, but many do not.
I have not figured out why, but would guess that the links embedded from the editing screen do NOT open the new tab, while if one codes in the HTML, then they can add that function.
Personally, I like the New Tab approach (I seem to recall that one could specify that, but maybe I am thinking of another forum?). Only problem that I have, when a New Tab has been opened, is that I often do not notice, and keep hitting Back! Then I look up, and understand.
Anyway, the Forum Comments forum will get the attention of Adobe-Admin (John C), and he can comment, plus add this to his "wishlist."
Some of this could well be browser-specific, or even browser settings-specific. I use Chrome and 90% of the links stay in the original open tab, but about 10% open that New Tab?
Good luck,
Hunt
PS - after seeing your title, but before I read the body copy, I thought that you were going to complain about something that I had done... sigh of relief!
