1. Re: Bridge is changing color of photo
Curt Y Dec 12, 2011 6:29 PM (in response to modelpics)Not so fast, did you consider you might have it set wrong?
The first thumbnails you see are the embedded onces that the camera makes, it you want those click on prefer embedded. THis is an icon just to left and below Essential in the toolbar.
The reason the pictures are changing color is you have the ACR defalults set incorrectly. With RAW photos they are just that, you have to figure out what you want them to look like. Get one to look like you want and set that as default.
Also, just because it is a new computer does not mean the monitor is color balanced. Shoot a photographic gray card, read card and see what it looks like on screen.

2. Re: Bridge is changing color of photo
modelpics Dec 12, 2011 7:30 PM (in response to Curt Y)Thank you for the tips. I do have jpgs and raw images showing, as I shoot jpg/raw. I tried those things and no change. I have tried changing things in color management from puter's control panel. I've tried many things and no change. Photos still look good in canon's programs - zoombrowser and dpp, unfortunately just not in the program I actually use. So I guess some good improvements from cs2 bridge but color is not one of them. All I know is I'm not spending $600 on this program if the color is going to be off this bad.

3. Re: Bridge is changing color of photo
Curt Y Dec 12, 2011 8:06 PM (in response to modelpics)Think you missed the point again. All raw pictures record a jpg thumb so you can see it in camera. If you have embedded thumbnails enabled this is the same thumb you see.
What type of thumbnail are you running?
One thing to consider is that photoshop and bridge are color managed programs, while many of the browsers are not. Likely zoombroswer and dpp are not color managed so you wlll likely see a color shift.
THe color managed program will give you the correct color if you monitor is calibrated and you are using the correct color settings.

4. Re: Bridge is changing color of photo
modelpics Dec 12, 2011 10:04 PM (in response to Curt Y)Okay, thank you for the info. As for thumbnail, it says always embedded priority. I shoot adobe rgb, save tiff's as adobe rgb and save jpg for website as srgb. In PS I have color settings working spaces as adobe rgb. Ultimately it doesn't matter, eventually I'll figure it out and for now I just need to process. If you add a .com to my username you can see what I'm working on, in particulary, the woman in the upper left in green tank top. That series looks very warm in bridge and so I did convert some raw images and processed those w/ a different white balance and now I'm back to processing the jpg. I prefer a consistency that I don't have with this series. I did a couple, 4139 & 4150, in CS2 w/ old dell before it crashed on thursday and the rest today. Again after I changed something, the white balance and saved those as tiff's it changed the finished photo. Well, I added these to photobucket in the public side but viewer discretion - http://s1030.photobucket.com/albums/y365/donj44/ella green series/
As you can see, the first 4 were done w/ jpg & adjustments in ps, the next few w/ white balanced via acr and now back to jpg. It's too inconsistent.

Curt Y Dec 13, 2011 7:44 AM (in response to modelpics)Here is an excellent link that explains adjustments to get consistant RAW color in spite of Bridge's auto features.
