Bill Hunt Dec 13, 2011 11:21 AM (in response to TRUE_SEEKER)Unfortunately, you need the Video Transcoding to be "Millions of Colors +," where the + is the Alpha Channel. As Steve mentions, that is not a capability of the Transcoding engine in PrE. PrPro offers that for many formats. Even Transparency (Alpha Channel) is not available for FLV's, out of PrE - only PrPro.
Sorry for the bad news.
Now, AE CS 5.5 has the great, new RotoBrush, which might be useful for what you need. You would do a regular Export/Share, and then use the AE RotoBrush to create the Transparency (Keying). Just one possibility.
Good luck,
Hunt

TRUE_SEEKER Dec 14, 2011 8:48 AM (in response to Bill Hunt)Bill,
I hope you ordered 32 GB or more on that new computer After Effects 5.5 takes up as much as it can.
The Roto Brush tool is really a timesaver over ordinary Rotoscoping. Although, my problem now is: when I try to send a 1 min. And 11 second video from Adobe Premier Pro 5.5 two Adobe Media encoder 5.5, the process hangs in wait state in the Media Encoder. I have filed a request for help on the Media Encoder forum.
I know you will put your new computer to use in helping other people and for this I thank you.

6. Re: How can I output the alpha channel in Premiere elements 10
Bill Hunt Dec 14, 2011 9:39 AM (in response to TRUE_SEEKER)Being a laptop, I could only fit 24GB into it. When I update the workstation, I'll fill the MoBo then.
The reason that I am addressing the laptop first, is that I have retired, and much of its use WILL be to work on issues in the forum. The workstation will be just for me - don't have clients standing by, any more, showering me with $ to justify the expenditure. While I am not on a "fixed income," it's not as easy to justify a couple thousand $'s, as it once was.
Good luck, and think that you'll love that Roto Brush!
Happy editing,
Hunt
