You should be OK since the device has an ARM9 processor. The minimum spec for running Flash on an Android tablet is an ARM7. See: Flash Minimum System Requirements

However, the model isn't listed on Adobe's certified device list @ http://www.adobe.com/flashplatform/certified_devices/tablets.html

Here's the company's home page: http://www.wondermedia.com.tw/en/products/platform/soc/wm8650/index.jsp

Maybe it might be worth your while contacting their support desk to see what they have to say.

has a better idea.

"Evaluation version" usually implies that you have to put money down on the table if you want to keep using it once the trial period expires.

You could try using the download suggested here maybe, but I don't know if the version is secure or not: http://www.androidpit.com/en/android/forum/thread/420722/Table-7-wm8650-VIA-926-REVIEW

Google recently removed 22 apps found to install malware recently: http://thedrum.co.uk/news/2011/12/15/google-removes-22-fraudulent-apps-android-market-0

That's not what is says on WonderMedia's site: http://www.wondermedia.com.tw/en/products/platform/soc/wm8650/index.jsp

Here are some more details about that particular CPU in case it helps: http://www.arm.com/products/processors/classic/arm9/arm926.php

thanks for the links.

on the second one, if you go down, and click on the 'specifications' tab,

it says that the ARM926EJ-S is built on the ARMv5TE architecture.

what do you make of that?

Hmmm... yes I see. Sorry, I didn't spot that.

According to trusty Wikipedia, the ARM926EJ-S was the first implementation of Jazelle which will execute Java bytecode commonly used in mobile phones to execute Java ME games. That processor has however been superceded by the ARMv7 which is the one Adobe mentions in their minimum specs.

So it looks like I got my sums wrong this time. I was assuming that "9" was greater than "7" which in this particular case, it isn't. The full Wikipedia article can be found here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jazelle

only in via wondermedia land is 7 > 9.... whoda thunked it.

so that means that all of those tablets advertised w/arm9

cpu's are scams, trying to make people think that there's

something 'more' there.

would be nice is some of those hackers out there could come

up with a version of flash (besides an eval ver) that would

run on the wm8650.

that and a 'lite' ver of the 2.3 os that would run on it as well

would put me in pig heaven!

The odd thing though is that the 'eval' version works. So it might be worth your while contacting WonderMedia to determine what kind of exhorbitant sum they're expecting from you to turn it into a permanent feature.

they can't. it's called 'eval' because it's the only release

for the arm5 (wm8650) that adobe ever came out with.

it's a non-expiring eval from adobe...

Well, I suppose that's a lifesaver at least. So why did you want to remove it in the first place?

Oh... that would drive me bonkers.

Maybe you could try returning it the store? If they sold it to you with the assurance that it can run Flash 10.1, then I would have thought that you'd have grounds for redress provided you live in a country with good consumer protection laws.
