RoboHelp 8.0.2

I have a link near the bottom of a topic, which links to a small topic as a custom-sized popup. In the finished WebHelp, when I click the link, the popup is mostly off the bottom of the screen, and I cannot scroll down to view it. Shouldn't it appear withing the main frame of the topic beneath it?

Any suggestions anyone?

Thanks.

Hi Philip

In a perfect world, yes!

Is it browser specific? Have you tested in different browsers?

Have you tested using RoboHelp 9? If not, perhaps you should?

It may well be that you (and others) need to file Bug Reports.

Cheers... Rick

Perhaps see if this thread helps. It references a couple of different topics.

The main suggestions are:

1. Replace the ehlpdhtm.js file with one posted within the thread (might be available on Peter Grainge's site, too)

2. Run a couple of popup fixer scripts.

Auto-sizing popup in RoboHelp 8 not the same as 7

Despite the title, it actually addresses auto and custom sized popups in both webhelp and chm output.

Thanks Guys, I'll try the amended .js file.

I'll look at different browsers, but that shouldn't determnine the issue. I can't tell my clients which browser their end users must use. If this is a cross-platform product, then it has to be cross-browser too.

I haven't upgraded to RH9 because of the very high cost, and the sharp decline in demand in the area of RH training. (I'd be spending money on features that I don't particularly need, just to fix a bug?)

I'll post again when I've tested the fixes.

Happy Christmas!
