1. Re: Strange error message when building dvd
Stan Jones Dec 17, 2011 8:58 PM (in response to cjacs987654)If you search this you find very few of these errors, and no pattern to what has helped.
At least one user started the project over and it worked.
You might report more about what kind of source footage, how you got it into Encore (dynamic link vs exported/imported), whether Encore is transcoding as part of that build etc.
Is there another error reported when you clear this window?
You can review the issues here (Troubleshoot system errors and freezes | Adobe software on Windows):

cjacs987654 Dec 18, 2011 3:47 AM (in response to Stan Jones)Hi Stan
Many thanks for your reply.
The source footage is avchd 1920x1080, Sent the timeline to encore with dymanic link. Encore is transcoding yes.
No other errors
Overnight! , i got around it by exporting to AME in mpeg2-dvd mode, then importing into a new encore project
and it worked. The timeline settings in encore told me the video didnt need transcoding, but the audio (wav file) did.
Once I have this urgent project out, i will experiment and try method 1 again
Will also look at the link you sent me-thanks
Thanks again
Chris

3. Re: Strange error message when building dvd
Stan Jones Dec 18, 2011 5:21 AM (in response to cjacs987654)That is the most common workaround for a variety of issues when downrezzing HD to SD.
One troubleshooting method is to use "transcode now" rather than letting Encore transcode it during the build. That way, you can separate the transcoding from some other error. Using "transcode now," as of CS5, you can also let AME do the transcoding from the Encore project.

5. Re: Strange error message when building dvd
bertrenolds Dec 20, 2011 9:42 AM (in response to cjacs987654)You should honestly just buy a blu-ray burner instead of compressing your video, what format are you working with? Dynamic link blows unless you have tons of memory so my suggestion would be to encode the video in premiere and then import it to encore. With dynamic link you could also try building your project in encore as an ISO and then burning a disk with imgburn if you havn't tryed that. I have cs3 and use debugmode frameserver and then create a dvd file using my own software but try using adobes encoder if the ISO image thing doesn't work.

6. Re: Strange error message when building dvd
cjacs987654 Dec 20, 2011 11:02 AM (in response to bertrenolds)Hi
Thanks for your reply.
I do have a blu-ray burner, and i was creating a image, the error came up during the transcode. I have 12gb memory - what do you mean by tons ? is 12 enough.
I am working with avchd 1920x1080, that i have successfully used before.
I would then intend to burn the iso file afterwards, so the error is purely in encore, not relevant to burner as such
I did actually go the AME route, then import into encore and it worked fine, so it appears the transcoding in encore is the issue.
It would be helpful offcourse if the error message gave more info or what stage it was at at the time of the error.
Thanks again
Chris

7. Re: Strange error message when building dvd
bertrenolds Dec 20, 2011 1:36 PM (in response to cjacs987654)So it's pretty much failing to burn a disk then, I would say instead of burning to disk in encore change your project output in encore to blu-ray image or dvd image and make sure the resolution settings are correct in quality presets and then build the ISO and then burn it in IMGBURN found here for free http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download
The error came up with transcoding when building the project? Or when importing the file into encore?
