JAKE JONSON Dec 30, 2011 9:01 PM (in response to Saad Khan)Well, I would start with Adobe Audition CS5.5 (accessing it from PPro's 'Edit w/Audition' in the right-click on the audio track) and tackle each of these problems in turn.

Saad Khan Jan 1, 2012 12:29 AM (in response to shooternz)thanks Shooternz :-)
However, I will be charging them extra for the time I spend in fixing the audio and that's why I'm asking anyone in the forum for suggestions on which controls to use in Adobe Audition as Jake suggested using. e.g. would I use base, trebble etc. to boost quality? Or would I just trial and error.

9. Re: Fixing Terrible sounding audio Premiere CS5.5
Saad Khan Jan 1, 2012 6:29 AM (in response to Richard M Knight)Thanks Richard, I definitely see the value in hiring a sound engineer. With these jobs, I'd just like to learn how to do some basic audio editing. Just to improve it a little. I've seen a number of effects which I can add in Premiere and I can also see hat there are some pretty cool controls in audition. I'd just like to get a rough idea on which tools or effects to use to make the audio sound a little better.

Saad Khan Jan 1, 2012 6:33 AM (in response to Richard M Knight)By the way, how can I post a link up in the forum so that people can listen to the track that I'm talking about and better direct me as to what to do with it?
Thanks

12. Re: Fixing Terrible sounding audio Premiere CS5.5
Bill Hunt Jan 1, 2012 10:51 AM (in response to Saad Khan)As has been mentioned, starting with good Audio is the key, but there are some things that can be done to "improve" some less than stellar Audio. This ARTICLE covers some of it.
The rec. to do the Audio work in Audition is a where I would start. However, while it's a great program, even it has limitations. At some point, you will be faced with "diminishing returns," on what can be done to improve the Audio vs how long it takes.
Good luck,
Hunt
