YouTube sound cuts out after 1 second

Hi

Wonder if anyone can help with a problem.   The sound on flash when viewing youtube and "some" other flash video sites either doesn't work at all or cuts out after about 1 second.  I've tried looking at simlilar prblems via google and I've slready tried the following

Cleared the cache on IE

I tried installing chrome instead and stil had the same issue.

I've chnaged to global settings on flash to allow it to wrtie to storage

I've disabled every add on apart from the adobe one

I've uninstalled flash 11 and installed flash 9

Sound is working fine for all other applications on the PC, e.g. system sounds and windows media player.

Running out of ideas now.  Anyone able to suggest anything else to try?
