Print a grey image with transparency creates a color image

      Hello,

I have a document which contains some images with transprency. While I convert the document to grey only the DeviceGrey colorspace is in the document.

But if I print the document (eg. using the PDF printer) the result will be a pdf document with ICCBasedRGB or ICCBasedCMYK colorspace instead of my DeviceGrey colorspace. While I optimize the document (and also optimize the transparency) then everything is OK.

This is a known behavior? Do you knwo a document (white paper) which explains this behavior?

      Thanks in advance,

      Joe
