1. Re: How to estimate the size of Encore final authoringoutput for a dvd or .iso image?
Ann Bens Jan 7, 2012 2:41 AM (in response to Michelmnr)I.5 hour of timeline will fit nicely on a dvd.
Or use a bitrate calculator.

2. Re: How to estimate the size of Encore final authoringoutput for a dvd or .iso image?
Michelmnr Jan 7, 2012 4:01 AM (in response to Ann Bens)Thank you Ann, I had a quick look at the calculator and it will be very useful. but 1.5 hours of time line is easier to remember! So this means on DL I could fit 3 hours, that's good. I guess when I use HD I'll have to divide this by 2 or 3 and the calculator will be useful then.
I'm still a little confused though about the size of those files on the timeline, is this irrelevant as long the duration is below the 1.5 hr? Thanks again for the quick help :)MM

Stan Jones Jan 7, 2012 5:36 AM (in response to Michelmnr)The "timeline" size is pre-transcode, right? All that will matter for the disk is what the transcoded size is. Your huge images are just little ol' video frames in the end.
All about bitrate then.

5. Re: How to estimate the size of Encore final authoringoutput for a dvd or .iso image?
Michelmnr Jan 7, 2012 6:20 PM (in response to Stan Jones)Thanks again, I just went to visit these links - there is so much in there! I need to do a little reading too about bitrate - My little brain will focus on remembering 1.5 hours of standard timeline to fit a normal dvd disk whilst I'll try to assimilate the rest!
My system did not suffer too much as a result of using those large image apart once or twice getting a low memory - save your work warning!
