Among them should at least be Papervision, which might be suitable for what you describe. I honestly don't recall the others that are around, but a couple might be better than Papervision these days.

markerline Jan 6, 2012 8:03 PM (in response to cyberbaffled)In addition to what Ned said, some 3D applications render to vector images directly and some render directly as SWF images. When you import the rendered file the timeline has one frame per frame of animation coming out of the 3D animation software. If you don't animate anything you will simply see 1 frame on the timeline representing your 3D object. Autodesk Maya supports this, for example.
