1. Re: Can you apply character formats in the Marker window?
Error7103 Jan 24, 2012 11:45 AM (in response to farrelldoc)I've never done a LOM, but if you are pulling across text at the marker, and LOMs work like TOCs, try the following.
Apply a Character format to the source text with the attributes you need.
Make sure that format also exists in the Character Catalog of the LOM file.
In the case of TOCs, this causes the TOC lines to use that Character format (as defined in the TOC, as long as the format name is the exactly the same).

2. Re: Can you apply character formats in the Marker window?
farrelldoc Jan 24, 2012 12:04 PM (in response to Error7103)Thank you for your quick response.
Unfortunately, the LOM files do not work the same way as TOCs. In the marker window in the source document, only the text that you specify is generated in the LOM file. I tried using character formats like you do in variables, but it did not work. The character format mark-up from the Marker window was included in the LOM file along with the text, just as written in the Marker window.
Thanks,
Karen

3. Re: Can you apply character formats in the Marker window?
Error7103 Jan 24, 2012 12:11 PM (in response to farrelldoc)Apparently so. I find one note in the 7.1 Help, saying:
Note: You can't format marker text in the Marker Text box.

Jeff_Coatsworth Jan 24, 2012 1:28 PM (in response to Error7103)In the FM10 Help (http://help.adobe.com/en_US/framemaker/using/WSd817046a44e105e21e63e3d11ab7f7561e-7f9f.htm l) it says that you can format Index marker text, but it doesn't mention it working with any other types of markers.
